联电发布10月营收,比去年同期略增
Taiwan-based foundry giant United Microelectronics Corp. showed the signs of a slowdown with its October financial report, with revenues up 0.13 percent from the same month last year but down sequentially.

UMC's October revenue totaled $276.2 million (9.05 billion new Taiwanese dollars), compared to $275.9 (9.04 billion TWD) in October 2005 and $281.83 million (9.23 billion TWD) in September.

Revenue for the January-October period rose 20 percent to $2.65 billion (87.04 billion TWD), up from $2.2 billion (72.35 billion TWD) in the same period last year.

UMC has been timid with its financial predictions for the upcoming months, due to inventory issues in the chip industry worldwide. In a Q4 outlook the company released last month , UMC said wafer shipments are projected to decrease by 2 percent to 3 percent and wafer ASPs are expected to fall by 5 percent to 6 percent from its Q3 results.
